Support Letter

Psalms 96:3 “Declare his glory among the nations his marvelous deeds among all peoples!”

Hello Friends and Family!

I am writing to share about an amazing opportunity that I am excited to be a part of. I’m sure you are all wondering what I have been up to lately! Well, I am still a part of IHOP here in Kansas City, Missouri; I am still working at Whole Foods as well as attending school at MCC Longview. The Lord has decided to take me on a new adventure, in September I will be leaving Kansas City to be a part of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Charlotte, North Carolina! You might be wondering, what is YWAM? Well, Youth With A Mission draws people from a wide variety of backgrounds to work in a vast spectrum of evangelistic activities. Young people, families, retired persons, recent high-school graduates and PhD’s are among their ranks. Every year more than 32,000 people are involved in short-term work while over 10,000 work as permanent staff in 630 operating locations in 140 nations. There are three main ways that YWAM is involved in the goal of taking the Gospel to the entire world:
* Evangelism: Spreading God's message.
* Training: Preparing workers to reach others.
* Mercy Ministries: Showing God's love through practical assistance.

As a Christian, I’ve received the commission to go into the world and proclaim the gospel of Christ to the lost, bring hope to the hopeless, stand against injustice, feed the poor, clothe the naked, and pray for the sick to be healed. YWAM is awesome because it exists to equip young people, like myself, to live missionary lifestyles intentionally focused on reaching the world for Christ and living out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19). They’ve sent out nearly four million young people into the harvest fields over the course of their more than 50 years of ministry.
This is the part where you come in! One of the luxuries I have as a child of the “internet age” is the ability to be in constant communication with you, as supporters. This means I will be able to give you current updates and prayer requests. My vision is that this wouldn’t just be a one-time letter, but that as you choose to partner with me in what God is doing, we would grow closer as the global family of God and in our understanding of the work He’s doing in every corner of the world. I have a sense that God is preparing me for a long term investment in real global issues of injustice and poverty.
So what does partnership with me look like? Well, I definitely need to be showered in prayer while I’m in Charlotte. It’s certainly exciting to know that God will be doing a work in me! I’d specifically like prayer around the area of God refining and pruning me spiritually in this season of my Discipleship Training School (DTS). I am looking to grow closer to God as my spiritual Father and feel His love in my life. I also will need prayer for the outreach I will be going on for three months. The outreach will be going to one of three places; India, Cambodia, or Thailand. I want to see God move in the people we are going to be ministering to during this time! Prayers are a must and I would be so thankful for your partnership with me in this area, it would bless me greatly!
The other real element of support is in my financial needs. God has already blessed me with resources for part of the DTS but I still need another $5,000 to cover the lecture phase, as well as my outreach. The great thing is that I already know in my heart that God is the faithful Provider, He has proven that fact over and over in my life during the last three years.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter and I hope that you will prayerfully consider partnering with me in the ministry of Christ. To stay connected, I’ll be making a real effort to consistently update my blog (website listed below with contact information) each week, along with additional email updates.

Blessing,
Hannah
